Baseball Game Preview: Paradise Panthers vs. Pilot Point Bearcats

For the second straight game, Paradise will face off against Pilot Point. The Panthers will challenge the Bearcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Paradise has four straight victories, Pilot Point has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Pilot Point's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: Paradise hadn't allowed a single run the last four times they've hit the field. The Panthers' pitchers stepped up to hand the Bearcats an 11-0 shutout on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Kolten Neil looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Paradise got a big performance out of Madden Taylor, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. The Panthers are undefeated when Taylor posts two or more runs, but 3-7-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Leland Mattern, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Pilot Point's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Paradise, the win got them back to even at 7-7-2.
