Soccer Game Preview: Dos Pueblos vs. San Marcos

The Dos Pueblos Chargers will challenge the San Marcos Royals at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Dos Pueblos is headed into the contest without a loss and will look to keep things rolling. They came out on top against Rio Mesa by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. Given the Chargers' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Spartans are ranked 289th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Dos Pueblos hit Rio Mesa with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Justin Herrera, Owen Ribbens, and Chris Barreto Ordonez.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for San Marcos, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in December of 2024. Their defense stepped up to hand Ventura a 1-0 shutout on Tuesday. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Royals were the better team in the second half.

San Marcos now has a winning record of 5-4-2. As for Dos Pueblos, they pushed their record up to 7-0-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
