Basketball Recap: Cedar Ridge Comes Up Short

Cedar Ridge was the 46-35 winner over Chatham Central when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Cedar Ridge Fighting Red Wolves fell 40-31 to the Chatham Central Bears on Wednesday.

Despite the loss, Cedar Ridge saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kate Finnegan posted eight points and 12 rebounds. That's the most rebounds Finnegan has posted since back in January. Jamee Watson was another key player, putting up seven points.

It was another big night for Karaleigh Dodson, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 16 boards for Chatham Central. That makes it three consecutive games in which Dodson has scored at least a third of Chatham Central's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Scott, who had eight points.

Cedar Ridge now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Chatham Central, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Cedar Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 30-25 defeat against Person on the 20th. As for Chatham Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-17 win against Graham on the 20th.
