Basketball Game Preview: Kerman Lions vs. Chavez Titans

The Kerman Lions will be taking part in a tournament against the Chavez Titans at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Kerman is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. Everything went their way against Livingston on Wednesday as Kerman made off with an 87-65 win.

Kerman can attribute much of their success to Daniel Bibioff, who went 12 for 21 on his way to 37 points in addition to six assists and four steals, and Von Bibioff, who went 8 for 14 on his way to 23 points in addition to six boards and five assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Daniel has scored at least a third of Kerman's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nishan Jani, who posted six points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Chavez entered their tilt with Wonderful College Prep Academy on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victor by a 41-17 margin over the Wolves.

Kerman pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.3 points per game. As for Chavez, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Kerman came out on top in a nail-biter against Chavez in their previous meeting back in January, sneaking past 74-71. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Chavez's Jesus Martinez, who went 15 of 35 on his way to 34 points. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for Kerman to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
