Baseball Recap: Murray Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Murray waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Hunter Wolverines with a sharp 15-1 win. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 17-0 win on Wednesday.

Ryan Lobach looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Atticus Rogers was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Baylor Chappell, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.

Murray kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hunter only managed two hits.

Murray pushed their record up to 15-3-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Hunter, they are on a 25-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-21.

Looking ahead, Murray is taking a road trip to square off against West Jordan at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Spartans will need to watch out since the Jaguars have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for Hunter, they will welcome Kearns at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wolverines are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a 20-game losing streak.
