Taylorville is a perfect 10-0 against Mt. Zion since October of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Tornadoes will face off against the Braves at 6:00 p.m. Taylorville will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Taylorville won the last time they faced Highland and Alayna Vincent did her part to make sure it happened again. The Tornadoes came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday for which the team can thank Vincent, who had eight kills, four digs, and three aces. She has been hot, having posted five or more kills the last five times she's played.
Taylorville easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-16.
Taylorville had a senior duo take command as Brogan Anderson had 12 digs and Molly Smith had 11 assists and three aces.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Mt. Zion walked away with it. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Eagles on Tuesday.
Mt. Zion not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Civic Memorial to exactly 17 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-17.
Taylorville better focus on containing Addy Rotz and Catelyn Crafton as the pair were huge in Mt. Zion's win. Rotz had ten digs, while Crafton had six digs.
Taylorville's record is now 31-5. As for Mt. Zion, their record now sits at 20-15.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's match: Taylorville has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.6 aces per game. However, it's not like Mt. Zion struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.9 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Taylorville skirted past Mt. Zion 2-1 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Do the Tornadoes have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Braves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
