Baseball Recap: Saugus Takes a Loss

Saugus has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.86 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Saturday. They came up short against the Lynn Classical Rams, falling 11-4. The Sachems were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Saugus saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Danny Zeits, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was Zeits' first of the season.

Saugus has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Lynn Classical, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Saugus will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Gloucester at 4:30 p.m. As for Lynn Classical, they will venture away from home to take on Everett at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
