Softball Recap: McKenzie Rebels vs. Clarksburg Rockets

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Dresden, McKenzie was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Clarksburg Rockets by a score of 10-6. The high-scoring effort was just what McKenzie needed considering they were shutout in their previous match.

For Clarksburg's part, Addison Milam was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned (and eight unearned) runs off nine hits. Milam was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Carlie Swinford made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and two RBI.

The victory got McKenzie back to even at 2-2. As for Clarksburg, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-6.

McKenzie has the luxury of staying home for another game and will welcome Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
