Football Recap: Gatewood Skates Past Augusta Prep with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gatewood). They blew past the Augusta Prep Cavaliers 48-16 on Friday. The Gators haven't had any issues with the Cavaliers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Gatewood found their leader in sophomore Brady Haley, who rushed for 75 yards and three scores on only seven carries, and also threw for 157 yards and one TD while completing 83.3% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Sean Bennett, who rushed for 92 yards and one touchdown on only six carries.

Gatewood was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 298 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Gatewood didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Harrison Harper and Drew Love.

Gatewood's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Augusta Prep, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
