Naugatuck was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Wolcott on Thursday. The Greyhounds put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 13-1 win. Considering the Greyhounds have won six contests by more than 11 runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Carly Luchina made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those five hits gave her a new career-high.
