Basketball Recap: Valley View Comes Up Short

Valley View lost against Carlisle last Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Valley View Spartans were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 63-62 to the Carlisle Indians. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (57), the Spartans still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Valley View saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ty Fritz dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten boards. Fritz is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Caesar Berryman, who went 5-for-9 en route to 11 points along with six boards and three steals.

Valley View is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-8. As for Carlisle, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Valley View wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 73-54 defeat against Brookville on the 15th. Carlisle does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
