Basketball Game Preview: Rocky Mount Academy Eagles vs. Fayetteville Academy Eagles

The Rocky Mount Academy Eagles will square off against the Fayetteville Academy Eagles at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Last Thursday, Rocky Mount Academy took their game with ease, bagging a 68-33 victory over Kerr-Vance Academy. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-13.

Hank Berry continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 13 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Gehrig Miller, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, Fayetteville Academy had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.6 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Friday. They breezed by the Patriots to the tune of 69-31. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 23 points or more this season.

Fayetteville Academy pushed their record up to 18-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 38.2 points. As for Rocky Mount Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.

Rocky Mount Academy took a serious blow against Fayetteville Academy when the teams last played on January 7th, falling 85-40. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Rocky Mount Academy was down 52-25.
