For the first time this season, Olympian will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be playing at home against the Montgomery Aztecs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Olympian's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

Olympian is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Castle Park 55-13 on Friday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Eagles' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 399th, while the Trojans are ranked 955th).

Jayden Fuentes produced another solid performance throwing for 185 yards and three TDs while completing 85.7% of his passes, and also rushing for 45 yards. Jorgani Estrada was Fuentes' top target, picking up 59 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 19 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Estrada, who ran a punt back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a kickoff return touchdown from Dylan Loe.

Meanwhile, while Montgomery put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for San Ysidro. The Aztecs claimed a resounding 36-0 victory over the Cougars. The win continues a trend for the Aztecs in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won six in a row.

Montgomery's win came from a few key players Olympian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Isaiah Mena-Malijan, who threw for 241 yards and one touchdown while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also rushed for 42 yards and one TD. That's the most passing yards he has posted since back in November of 2024. Qassim Williams was another key player, gaining 157 total yards and two touchdowns.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Montgomery proved: they limited San Ysidro to a paltry 2.7 yards per carry. While two picked up at least 11 total tackles, Isaac Espinosa stood above the rest. He made 11 total tackles (4.0 for loss) and defended one pass in addition to snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown. Montgomery didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.1.

Montgomery's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Olympian, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Olympian couldn't quite get it done against Montgomery in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 as they fell 14-6. Will the Eagles have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other football content.
