Volleyball Recap: Oakwood Comes Up Short

Oakwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Dayton Christian WARRIORS. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the WARRIORS this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in August.

Oakwood took Dayton Christian into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 21-25, 15-25, 25-20, 15-10.

Evie Connor paced Oakwood's offense, picking up 22 kills. Connor got some help from Berkley Parker and her 36 assists. Paige Griesser controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Oakwood's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Dayton Christian, they pushed their record up to 13-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Oakwood has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Waynesville on the 25th. As for Dayton Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Madison on the 22nd.
