Baseball Recap: Wheeler Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Wheeler waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the Lyman Memorial Bulldogs. Considering the Lions have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Garett Lenihan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Lenihan was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Mason Perkins was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was James Main, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs.

Wheeler pushed their record up to 15-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Lyman Memorial, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

As of now, neither Wheeler nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
