Baseball Recap: Rutherford's Win Ends Seven-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Rutherford barely beat North Bay Haven Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rutherford Rams were the clear victor by a 13-3 margin over the North Bay Haven Academy Buccaneers on Thursday. The Rams' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Douglas Maldonado Romero was excellent, going 2-for-5 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Harold Quintana, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Rutherford's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5. As for North Bay Haven Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rutherford will venture away from home to face off against Freeport at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for North Bay Haven Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Marianna at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
