Holmes is leaving town to face Bear Grass Charter after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The Aces took a hard 43-29 fall against Currituck County on Thursday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Meanwhile, Bear Grass Charter strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past Perquimans County 66-27. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Bears had established a 34-point advantage.

Holmes was able to grind out a solid win over Bear Grass Charter when the teams last played back in January, winning 56-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Aces since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
