Baseball Game Preview: Uniontown Red Raiders vs. Belle Vernon Leopards

Uniontown is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will face off against the Belle Vernon Leopards at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Uniontown was handed a 11-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Monessen 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Red Raiders have posted since April 16, 2024.

Meanwhile, Belle Vernon earned a 10-6 victory over Woodland Hills on Wednesday.

Belle Vernon's win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Uniontown, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Uniontown came up short against Belle Vernon when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 9-4. Can Uniontown avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
