Basketball Recap: Taylor Titans vs. Clinton Prairie Gophers
After a string of three wins, the Taylor Titans's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of Clinton Prairie by a score of 42-40. Taylor was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gophers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Several Titans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Javionne Harris, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Connor Binnion, who scored eight points along with five assists.
Taylor's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-5. As for Clinton Prairie, they pushed their record up to 13-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
Taylor will take on the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Clinton Prairie, they will head out on the road to challenge the Comets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastern will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 279th, while the Gophers are ranked 106th).
