Last Thursday, Burlingame got the win against Woodside by a conclusive 9-2.

Kasey Lyons spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in six consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, Giana Johnson was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Miller, who scored a run and stole four bases.

Meanwhile, Sequoia fell victim to Capuchino and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. Their rough 15-0 loss to the Mustangs might stick with them for a while. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sequoia in their matchups with Capuchino: they've now lost four in a row.

Burlingame is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season. As for Sequoia, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.

Burlingame suffered a grim 12-0 defeat to Sequoia when the teams last played back in April of 2023. Thankfully for Burlingame, Ainsley Waddell (who didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched) won't be suiting up this time.
