Basketball Recap: 12 Straight Home Wins for Norwich Free Academy

Norwich Free Academy's and East Lyme's contest on Wednesday was close at halftime, but Norwich Free Academy turned on the heat in the second half with 29 points. The Norwich Free Academy Wildcats blew past the East Lyme Vikings 44-21. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won seven in a row.

Norwich Free Academy was led to victory by Jordyn Bay-Kent and Sophie Miner. Bay-Kent almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine boards, while Miner went 5-for-9 en route to 10 points and seven steals. What's more, Miner posted three assists, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Orcutt, who scored seven points and 11 rebounds.

Norwich Free Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive games.

Norwich Free Academy's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-6. As for East Lyme, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.

Coming up, Norwich Free Academy will be taking part in a tournament against Fitch at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. East Lyme does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
