Flag Football Recap: Yuba City Takes a Loss

Yuba City extended their losing streak to eight on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-8. They had to suffer through a 38-7 loss at the hands of the Del Campo Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Honkers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 628th, while the Cougars are ranked 160th).

As for Del Campo, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.4 points on average over those games.

The critical scores for Del Campo came from Mira Rommelfanger, Blu Clark, Riley White, and Keira Rowan.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Yuba City is set to take on their familiar foe River Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Del Campo will face off against rival Twelve Bridges at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Cougars 12.1, the Raging Rhinos 9.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
