Baseball Game Preview: Menlo-Atherton Bears vs. Sacred Heart Prep Gators

For the second straight game, Menlo-Atherton will face off against Sacred Heart Prep. Menlo-Atherton will head out on the road to face off against Sacred Heart Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Menlo-Atherton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

Menlo-Atherton barely beat Sacred Heart Prep the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Menlo-Atherton's pitcher stepped up to hand Sacred Heart Prep a 10-0 shutout on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Gators: they've now won three in a row.

Not much got past Jack Molise, who gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks to keep Sacred Heart Prep off the board. Molise has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Menlo-Atherton got a massive performance out of Ryder Kelly, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that Kelly launched this season. Another player making a difference was Ronan Cutright, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Menlo-Atherton hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.

Sacred Heart Prep's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Menlo-Atherton, their win bumped their record up to 8-4.
