Football Recap: Meadowdale Takes a Loss

Meadowdale played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 42-6 loss at the hands of the Talawanda Brave. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-6.

Jordan Brown threw for 85 yards and one TD. Trae Raye-Redmond was his top target, picking up 28 receiving yards. On the ground, Courtney Russell rushed for 43 yards.

Oliver Bennett went supernova For Talawanda., throwing for 118 yards and five touchdowns, while also rushing for 52 yards and one score on only six carries. Joey Beckett did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 15 receiving yards.

Meadowdale's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Talawanda, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Meadowdale will look to defend their home field on the 6th against Troy Christian at 7:00 p.m. As for Talawanda, they will head out on the road to challenge Eaton at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th.
