Baseball Recap: Dixon Bulldogs vs. White Oak Vikings

Dixon scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 22-8 margin over the White Oak Vikings. The win was some much needed relief for Dixon as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Dixon got a massive performance out of Bryson Ponsock, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Vincent, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

On White Oak's side, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Timothy Edwards, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Dixon's victory bumped their record up to 7-11. As for White Oak, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-12.

Dixon will take on New Bern at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Dixon will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for White Oak, they will head out on the road to challenge West Carteret at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
