Basketball Recap: Charleston Math & Science Comes Up Short

Charleston Math & Science was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 59-18 defeat at the hands of the Charleston Collegiate Sundevils. The Riptide were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Sundevils apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2021.

Charleston Math & Science's loss came despite strong showings from Cynay Taylor and Jalieya Westpoint. Taylor posted eight points, while Westpoint scored six points.

Charleston Math & Science's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Charleston Collegiate, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Charleston Math & Science didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 23-2 loss against Academic Magnet on the 9th. As for Charleston Collegiate, they are taking a road trip to face off against Calhoun Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
