Softball Recap: Commerce Comes Up Short

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Monday. Commerce came up short against Mount Vernon, falling 20-3. Commerce hasn't had much luck with Mount Vernon recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Commerce saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cayelin Crow, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Commerce's loss dropped their record down to 7-14-1. As for Mount Vernon, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-5-1.

Commerce didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 14-0 defeat against Rains on the 8th. As for Mount Vernon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 15-0 win against Chisum on the 8th.
