Basketball Game Preview: Monsignor Scanlan Crusaders vs. Long Island Lutheran Crusaders

Monsignor Scanlan will face off against Long Island Lutheran at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Friday, Monsignor Scanlan strolled past Bishop Loughlin with points to spare, taking the game 75-58. The win continues a trend for the Crusaders in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, Long Island Lutheran gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They were the clear victors by an 81-59 margin over Chaminade. The Crusaders not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since February 14th (when they won 76-41).

Monsignor Scanlan came up short against Long Island Lutheran in their previous meeting back in February of 2017, falling 64-58. Can Monsignor Scanlan avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
