Volleyball Recap: Vance Charter Comes Up Short

After flying high against Eno River Academy on Tuesday, Vance Charter came back down to earth. The Knights came up short against the Falls Lake Firebirds on Thursday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Firebirds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-16, 25-14.

Vance Charter's offense was headlined by Sarah Finch and Carson Rowan, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Leah Rice and her ten assists.

Vance Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 16-3. As for Falls Lake, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season.

Vance Charter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Oxford Prep on the 14th. Falls Lake does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
