Basketball Game Preview: Carroll Christian vs. Maryland School for the Deaf Orioles

After both having extra time off, Carroll Christian and the Maryland School for the Deaf Orioles will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with six losses in a row dating back to last season, Carroll Christian turned things around against Calvary Baptist Church Academy two weeks ago. They secured a 68-63 W over the Knights. Carroll Christian's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Maryland School for the Deaf put another one in the bag two weeks ago to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to Perry Hall Christian for the full four quarters, racking up a 74-41 victory. The Orioles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 27 points or more this season.

Maryland School for the Deaf pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 27.8 points. As for Carroll Christian, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Carroll Christian suffered a grim 65-43 defeat to Maryland School for the Deaf in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. Can Carroll Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
