Softball Preview: Keshequa Indians vs. Hornell Red Raiders

The Keshequa Indians will head out on the road to take on the Hornell Red Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Monday, it was a hard-fought contest, but Keshequa had to settle for a 7-5 defeat against Haverling. Keshequa has not had much luck with Haverling recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Meanwhile, Hornell was able to grind out a solid win over Livonia on Monday, taking the game 9-5. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Hornell has managed all season.

Raegan Evingham made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. Evingham was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Bella Gardner and Aleah Stuart did most of the damage at the plate: Gardner scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4, while Stuart scored a run while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Kadience Gollnitz, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Keshequa's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Hornell, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.
