Basketball Recap: Fort Bend Austin Skates Past Fort Bend Dulles with Ease

A well-balanced attack led Fort Bend Austin over Fort Bend Dulles in every quarter on their way to victory on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Fort Bend Austin Bulldogs blew the Fort Bend Dulles Vikings out of the water with a 77-28 final score. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-14.

Despite the loss, Fort Bend Dulles saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Laylah Thornton dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. That's the most points Thornton has posted since back in November of 2024.

The win made it two in a row for Fort Bend Austin and bumps their season record up to 12-9. As for Fort Bend Dulles, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-22.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Fort Bend Clements the next time they take the court. Fort Bend Dulles will head out to face Fort Bend Clements at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, while Fort Bend Austin will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
