Basketball Recap: Noxubee County Takes a Loss

Noxubee County was the 49-46 winner over Kosciusko when they last played one another back in January of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. The Noxubee County Tigers took a blow against the Kosciusko Whippets on Wednesday, falling 80-37. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 163rd, while the Whippets are ranked 42nd).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kosciusko to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ryan Tillman, who went 7 for 15 on his way to 19 points and four steals. Jaybre Pierce was another key player, putting up 13 points and seven rebounds.

Noxubee County now has a losing record at 5-6-1. As for Kosciusko, their win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-3.

Noxubee County has already played their next contest (against Okolona), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Kosciusko will head out to face off against Louisville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
