            Softball Recap: Marion County Knights vs. Campbellsville Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            Marion County had lost three straight on the road, but  on Monday they dropped their record down to 9-5 to make it four. They fell just short of the Campbellsville Eagles by a score of  5-4. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won  10-5.
  Abbi Million made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 1-for-3 with one  home run, two  runs,  and one  stolen base. Another player making a difference was  Chloe Cox, who  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with one  run, one  double,  and one  RBI.
As for Campbellsville, their win  ended  a  four-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 8-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory they have posted  since March 21, 2024.
On Campbellsville's side,  Riley Underwood spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on nine hits.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Miley Hash, who  went 2-for-3 with three  runs. She continues to improve, besting her previous  run total in each of the last three games she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Keeley Dicken, who  went 2-for-4 with two  RBI and one  run.
 We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Marion County will  square off against  rival Adair County  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Campbellsville is set to  face off against  their familiar foe Taylor County  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
