Volleyball Recap: Suwannee Comes Up Short

Suwannee came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Newberry Panthers. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

While Suwannee was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Newberry's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-22, 25-23.

Riley Keith was the offensive standout of the contest as she had six digs and three aces.

Suwannee's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Newberry, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0.

Looking ahead, Suwannee is taking a road trip to square off against Hamilton County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Newberry, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lafayette at 6:00 p.m.
