Basketball Recap: Neumann Victorious

Neumann hadn't done well against Golden Gate recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Neumann Celtics narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Golden Gate Titans 52-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Celtics have posted since December 20, 2024.

Despite the loss, Golden Gate still got an impressive performance from Kamal Hyppolite, who went 8 for 17 on his way to 24 points and five rebounds. What's more, Hyppolite also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sam Powell, who posted 14 points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Neumann is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 13-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points per game. As for Golden Gate, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-17.

Neumann has already played their next contest, a 62-45 loss against Bishop Verot on the 31st. As for Golden Gate, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 61-43 victory against Riverdale on the 3rd.
