Basketball Game Preview: Union County Fightin' Tigers vs. Oak Hall Eagles

Union County hasn't had much luck against Oak Hall recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Union County Fightin' Tigers will head out to square off against the Oak Hall Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Union County is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Tuesday. They took a 38-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of First Christian.

Despite the loss, Union County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brooke Hunt posted six points along with six boards and six steals. Hunt has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Heaven Scott, who had four points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Oak Hall ended up a good deal behind Chiefland on Tuesday and lost 45-27. The match marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Union County will have to contain Kate Colburn as she made an impact in Oak Hall's last game. She posted 12 points.

Oak Hall's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-2. As for Union County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Union County came up short against Oak Hall in their previous matchup back in November, falling 30-19. Can Union County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
