Football Recap: Fordham Prep Takes a Loss

Fordham Prep played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the St. Anthony's Friars, falling 39-13. The Rams were not able to make up for their loss to the Friars from their previous meeting back in October of 2022.

St. Anthony's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Anthony Diieso led the charge by throwing for 225 yards and three TDs while completing 80% of his passes. Those 225 passing yards gave Diieso a new career-high. Xavier Bala helped Diieso out on the ground, rushing for 113 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Fordham Prep has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for St. Anthony's, they pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Fordham Prep wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 27-12 victory against St. Francis Prep on the 9th. As for St. Anthony's, they have also already played their next matchup, a 40-28 win against Cardinal Hayes on the 7th.
