Basketball Game Preview: Michigan Lutheran Titans vs. Zion Christian Mountaineers

The Michigan Lutheran Titans will take on the Zion Christian Mountaineers in a tournament on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Michigan Lutheran and Our Lady of the Lake Catholic meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. Michigan Lutheran walked away with a 28-21 win over Our Lady of the Lake Catholic.

Meanwhile, Zion Christian came tearing into Friday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.1 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 33-28 W against the Defenders.

Zion Christian's victory was their 14th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-6. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.9 points on average over those games. As for Michigan Lutheran, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-14.

Everything came up roses for Michigan Lutheran against Zion Christian in their previous meeting back in January of 2015, as the team secured a 64-27 victory.
