Young Women's Leadership Academy is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 65 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Bandera on Tuesday. They took a blow against the BULLDOGS, falling 84-24. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1325th, while the BULLDOGS are ranked 470th).

Meanwhile, the stars were shining brightly for KIPP Somos Collegiate in a 44-26 win over San Antonio S.T.E.A.M. Academy on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

KIPP Somos Collegiate found their leader in freshman Elizabeth Pena, who posted 20 points. Pena is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Julissa Perez, who earned ten points.

KIPP Somos Collegiate's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Young Women's Leadership Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-16.

Everything went Young Women's Leadership Academy's way against KIPP Somos Collegiate when the teams last played back in November of 2023, as Young Women's Leadership Academy made off with a 40-18 win.
