Keenan Smith ran for four touchdowns to lift
Fremont (Sunnyvale, Calif.) to a 46-21 defeat over
Lynbrook (San Jose, Calif.). Thanks to the stand out performance the junior now has 10 touchdowns on the season.
After taking the lead on a Smith touchdown run in the first quarter, the Firebirds led 26-0 at the half.
Fremont expanded its lead to 39 points entering the fourth quarter. FHS scored three times in the third, including once on a kick return touchdown by Smith.
The Sunnyvale school scored 12 points on special teams on the way to the victory.
Eric Day made a difference for the Vikings. The junior kicked one extra point.
The victory is a complete turnaround from last season's game between these two teams, which Lynbrook took, 35-7.
The victory was a step in the right direction for the Firebirds, which was coming off a 42-28 defeat at the hands of Monta Vista in its previous game.
Lynbrook (2-4) goes up against Monta Vista in a El Camino game matchup next week, while Fremont (4-2) locks horns with Cupertino also in a El Camino game.
