After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North DeSoto, D'Arbonne Woods was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They never let the Airline Vikings get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. D'Arbonne Woods might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 contests by six runs or more this season.

Charley Alford and Joley Bennett did most of the damage at the plate: Alford fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-4, while Bennett went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those two home runs gave Alford a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Edwards, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

D'Arbonne Woods is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Airline, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 16-10 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. D'Arbonne Woods will head out to square off against Quitman at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (D'Arbonne Woods 3.8, Quitman 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Airline, they will venture away from home to face off against Ruston at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bearcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.6 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of.
