Football Game Preview: Columbia Tigers vs. Choctawhatchee Indians + How To Watch

The Columbia Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Choctawhatchee Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Columbia is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They breezed past Rickards to the tune of 35-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Tigers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Raiders are ranked 178th).

Columbia's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Xavier Collins led the charge by throwing for 206 yards and two TDs while completing 72% of his passes. What's more, Collins racked up 123.1 passer rating, the most he's had since back in August.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Choctawhatchee). They blew past Booker T. Washington 49-6 on Friday. The Indians have beaten the Wildcats the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Wildcats has come to flipping the script.

Columbia better keep an eye on Tamen Zabetakis. He was instrumental in Choctawhatchee's win, rushing for 87 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries, while also throwing for 69 yards and three TDs. Zion Legree was in the mix as well, providing the Indians with two scores.

Columbia's record now sits at 9-2. As for Choctawhatchee, their record is now 10-1.

Columbia might still be hurting after the 37-14 defeat they got from Choctawhatchee in their previous matchup back in November of 2023. Thankfully for the Tigers, Cole Tabb (who rushed for 156 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
