Basketball Game Preview: New Deal Lions vs. New Home Leopards

The New Deal Lions will venture away from home to take on the New Home Leopards at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

New Deal will head into Tuesday's game out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They were beaten by Floydada 92-47. The defeat continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Whirlwinds: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, New Home didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Ropes on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 53-47 victory.

New Home is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.1 points per game. As for New Deal, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 11-11.

New Deal was dealt a bruising 75-41 defeat at the hands of New Home in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can New Deal avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
