Basketball Recap: Hart 2 Hart Academy's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

It was a good run, but Hart 2 Hart Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 43-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Westwood Christian Warriors. Hart 2 Hart Academy was not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Westwood Christian earlier this season, when they won 62-51.

When it comes to explaining why Hart 2 Hart Academy lost, don't look at Jordan Keen. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 10 on his way to 15 points and seven rebounds. Keen's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Pate, who posted six points and three steals.

Leading Westwood Christian to victory were Tripp Kirkland and Avery Thomas. Kirkland dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds, while Thomas dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds. Thomas is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Asher Baum was another key player, putting up six points and three steals.

Hart 2 Hart Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Westwood Christian, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hart 2 Hart Academy will face off against First Assembly Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Westwood Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Gainesville Christian Community at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Westwood Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.2 points per game this season.
