Baseball Recap: Harrells Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Harrells Christian Academy lost against Wayne Christian back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Harrells Christian Academy Crusaders fell 8-5 to the Wayne Christian Eagles. The Crusaders just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row dating back to last season.

Jesse Smith put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Drake Smith made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

Harrells Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harrells Christian Academy will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Wilmington Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wayne Christian, they will head out to face off against Eastern Christian HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
