Baseball Recap: Mountain View Beats Owyhee for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Mountain View hadn't done well against Owyhee recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Mavericks were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Storm. Considering the Mavericks have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Mountain View got a great performance from Davey Green as he didn't allow a single earned run over 6.2 innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cade Burnham, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Carson Lupton was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

The victory (which was Mountain View's fourth in a row) raised their record to 22-10. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Owyhee, they moved to 26-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Mountain View does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Owyhee, they will take on Coeur d'Alene in a tournament on Friday.
