Softball Recap: Mishawaka Snaps 11-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

After flying high against Huntington North last Saturday, Mishawaka came back down to earth. The Cavemen fell just short of the Tippecanoe Valley Vikings by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday. The match marked the Cavemen's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Mishawaka saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lilly St. Clair, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. Karmen Frazier also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Mishawaka's loss ended an 11-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-2. As for Tippecanoe Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Coming up, Mishawaka will challenge NorthWood at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cavemen's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 10.8 runs per game this season. As for Tippecanoe Valley, they will be playing at home against Knox at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
