Softball Recap: North Providence Comes Up Short

North Providence extended their losing streak to nine on Monday, dropping their season record down to 1-10 in the process. They came up short against the Toll Gate Titans, falling 11-0. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 13-8 to the Titans when the teams met back in May of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Toll Gate, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games.

For Toll Gate's part, Liv Cota was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI Cota has posted since back in April. Emma Harold also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Providence will venture away from home to face off against Woonsocket at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Toll Gate, they will head out to take on Johnston at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
