Volleyball Recap: Notre Dame Irish vs. Immaculate Heart Academy Blue Eagles

Notre Dame and Immaculate Heart Academy squared off in some playoff action on Sunday, but Notre Dame had to settle for second. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Immaculate Heart Academy Blue Eagles. The shutout was out of character for the Irish seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in October.

While Notre Dame was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-22.

Immaculate Heart Academy had a senior duo take command as Maggie Polchin had ten digs and Alessandra Nazor had nine digs, four aces, a kill, and a block. Nazor also set a new season high mark in assists with 22.

With the loss, Notre Dame broke their 11-game winning streak and moved their record to 23-4. As for Immaculate Heart Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 26-4.

As of now, neither Notre Dame nor Immaculate Heart Academy have any future games scheduled.
